We are very happy to announce that we have received a purchase order from Equinor for work in the Norne field. It is an EPCI project for alarm optimisation and will last up to 2 years. The work will be completed in collaboration with Kongsberg Maritime and Equinor.
It is with great joy Eldor can look back at the first two months of 2021 and an amount in new orders that almost exceeds all of 2020 in Norway, and is well over budget in both of the markets where we are operating.
Finally 2021 is here and we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! However, we have to recognise that we are starting off the new year in a difficult situation. There has been an increase in Covid-19 cases in both Norway and the UK lately, and we all have to make a collective effort to help the situation. One of our main areas of expertise in Eldor is within remote operation, maintenance and support, expertise that has proven very useful in the current situation. We facilitate for remote operation by applying digital technologies and work processes to increase production efficiency and plant integrity, while improving the safety of the people involved.
Looking back at our business in 2020, I think we can all agree that this year has been quite different to any other and how most of us would have imagined it would be. The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted every company and industry across the world, which includes Eldor. We have been working extra hard this year to adapt to the new way of dealing with our clients and delivery of our services, plus being able to look into new industries and opportunities. Including of course, looking after how we service our customers during these difficult times.
Eldor UK has moved into new offices in Aberdeen. We have been looking for new offices for a while, as we would like somewhere with more room and space to grow.
Our new address is: 2 Salisbury Terrace, Aberdeen AB10 6QH.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has changed the way we work, and also promoted further change that will affect how we work in the future. Some companies might be scared that the new working order is decreasing productivity and performance of their employees. However, Repsol Sinopec recently published an article claiming the exact opposite, namely that remote working has increased performance and cooperation across the company.
We are currently experiencing the pandemic outbreak of the Coronavirus. A result is that we have changed the way we do our day-to-day jobs, with many people working from home. Travel restrictions worldwide also prevents experts to travel to site. Today we have the technology to work remotely. However, before we set up our remote offices, we need to make sure that the connections we establish are safe and reliable. Therefore you need to do some considerations:
In Eldor, we are trying to adapt to an ever-changing market. These past months with the outbreak of Covid-19 and the sudden drop in the oil price, have shown us how quickly things can change. In order to be able to meet these changes and overcome them, we have started implementing some new strategies in Eldor.
